Teeth may become discolored as a result of trauma or root canal infections (among other causes). This discoloration is located within the tooth structure and cannot be eliminated with external bleaching. In a case of internal staining, bleaching of the internal tooth structure (internal bleaching) in conjunction with root canal treatment can lead to a satisfying aesthetic result.
